Yotsumono: November

 November --
countless raindrops to measure
the length of a day

a veil of frost
tints Johari's window

ranks of children
prone and obedient
to a flickering image

Lebensraum,
a none too distant dream

the feeling of refuge is a reason i took up haikai; yet it remains a medium to at least comment on an underlying reality. the scene is quite approachable, calming and serene, yet the text contains message;s, relating to our indifference without direct explanation. something is amiss as always, in my existence anyway. its a constant, at least, perhaps, even, a lifestyle.

its become a matter of being aware, yet surprising to some for my lack of evident alarm ...

I wasn't aware of haikai refuge, not consciously, only recently when reading-teaching for others . . .
