I think we're more afraid of the actual event than the thing itself.
True....and i don't know like most of those romantics, i saw death as my eternal lover...fantasizing about it -- but when it almost knocked me down (thrice it happened) i knew it was not just about me...but my family too suffered much more than me -- and then this nervousness comes -- Yet, there is that strange instinct to walk into it, and then turn off! :)

I'd never read Heidegger (my nephew was a philosophy and art major ) and when I saw this installation I wrote a slightly different version of the poem. It just so happened to be a direct quote from H. himself on a thesis of the origins of art.
My nephew thought I was clairvoyant! Not so...
I've been introduced to Mr. D a time or two, and the experience was a calming one, for me anyway-surprising how at the moment of certainty how peaceful and accepting you become-until you remember your loved ones who need you. Then, the Carp becomes the Dragon!
true, Williams :)
about that clairvoyance -- I am not surprised...It happens more frequently than we ever imagine,
Heidegger is not familiar to me..in fact i have noted the name to search and read :)
