November (winter is near) an autumn kigo for a region, at its heart, where the Big Woods met the The Great Plains in Central North America, the United States north into Canada.
I would call it a time of uncertainty and anticipation. The entropy of the waning season and the sun creates its own diffuse yang when weather is weaker (yin). The Solstice is another matter entirely, of historical significance, yet viewed with some personal drama in its own right. In this region, the January Thaw brings a brief spate of relief from the cold. The coldest moon, that follows, is one of Iron, tempered by determination and pain.
