kiss

sunlight refracting --
blinding, colorless, cold
clear sky and ice

no pain, no kindness
from Death's gentle kiss

Yotsumono :: skeletons for sale

skeletons for sale -
price of seed out of reach
late on Hallow's Eve

egg whites poured on water,
torch light, sun wise, round the house

the mountain
such a friendly place
now that wifi's gotten here

honeybees in the city
in search of lingering blossom

Autumn Ginko: October 2010

leaf viewing
a black ribbon unwinds
on pace with the sun

oak leaves tossed about
on a sudden wind --
that sense of falling

cool steel
set deep in the rock
the current always constant

all but in vain
lumbermen search for the key
a river made from trees

something's forgotten
down those damp hollows --
in the glacier's garden

stones and gravel
sheared right through --
the glacier asleep

an idle contemplation
for the waters of Autumn --
Princess of the Falls

memories, fleeting,
bear a lingering sweetness --
coolness in the pine

21st Century Blues

self-immolation -
unable to look,
unable to speak
the match's flare
a whisp of smoke

the clock tolls
morning and afternoon
stupid clouds
they rise from the east
the temples all in shadow

with poison wings
covering their mouths
above the City of Urns
no rank or substance
in omnipotent eyes

the sun sets
the sun rises
mute silence
preoccupation
with strange light

slogans dripping
from all the banners
a crowd gathers
singing the songs
twenty-first century blues
